Have lots of fun learning a variety of dance moves that will build into a fantastic and energetic dance routine that you can show your family and friends (please wear comfortable clothing).

Introduction to Computer Music

Use a computer to produce your own melody and rhythm. Your final composition will be copied on to CD for you to keep.

Turn ordinary plain biscuits and small cakes into novelty delights - giant stripy bees, flowery hats, cookie faces, all tasty snacks ..… using sweets, biscuits, roll-out icing and swiss rolls.

Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea

What will we find at the bottom of the sea? It’s up to you! Come and create a giant underwater wall painting – it could get messy so wear old clothes!

Set your imagination free to create your own ideal environment, then plot your ideas on Ordnance Survey maps.

Come and enjoy a face frenzy! Have fun creating faces of all kinds – from a 3-D working clock to Venetian-style face masks based on your favourite cartoon character. Lots of messy paper-maché fun!

Football

Aiming to be as good as Joe Cole? Then this is the course for you. The basic skills and rules of the game can be learned by beginners while the more advanced can improve their skills. But the main aim is to have fun and enjoy yourself ….. so all are welcome to come along and have a go.

Girls and boys! Have a basic introduction to the game of Netball. Learn ball skills and rules in preparation for secondary school in the autumn. Come and have some fun whilst learning, or improving, your Netball skills.

Come ‘shoot some hoops’ and get a basic introduction to the game of Basketball in preparation for secondary school in the autumn. Develop your knowledge and skills, and have some good energetic fun at the same time!

Computer Literacy and Information Technology (CLAIT)

CLAIT 2 – The Advanced Course

For anyone who has previously attended the above course, or whose computer skills are already well established, come learn advanced Digital Photography and PowerPoint tricks, graphs in Excel, Internet Trails, Publisher and email tips.

Explore the English language – from Shakespeare to the Victorians and on into the future. Find out about the way we talk today; use the internet to research the history of English and present your findings in a PowerPoint presentation.

By looking at real mediaeval bones and teeth from archaeological sites, learn how archaeologists study evidence about the life and death of ancient people (including the diseases and injuries they suffered from!). Sieve soil for animal bones and see what they tell us. Look at the use of animal skeletons and make your own bone beads!

“Forensic Archaeology” – Have a go at making things from clay, metal and wood and examining the results. Find out how real archaeologists – and the police – look for clues about the past.

Fixing up finds and piecing together the past

Go ‘behind the scenes’ working in the Archaeological Conservation Laboratory; experiment with Science and Art using microscopes, X-rays, electric bubbles, paintbrushes and special formulas.
